Back-to-school protection measures

After two years of pandemic with online classes, the return to classes imposes new challenges to educational establishments, since they must comply with several health protocols imposed by the Ministry of Education.

One of the issues that has caused the most controversy is the subject of masks, since many children find them uncomfortable or difficult to “breathe well” during the school day.

Here are some recommendations to protect schoolchildren during this back-to-school season:

  • Send a protection kit in backpacks that includes alcohol gel (spray or gel) and spare disposable masks.
  • Regarding mask replacement, children should ideally be able to change their masks every 3 to 4 hours.
  • Remember to wash hands frequently with soap.
  • The use of a face shield is recommended as double protection, if the child allows it.
  • Children who wear glasses, try to sanitize them frequently during the school day.

March has arrived and with it, thousands of students in Chile must resume classes after two years of the pandemic. For this reason, experts give their recommendations for a safe return to the classroom.
